CDS Charges New COAS To Build On Predecessor’s Legacy

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Lucky Irabor has charged the new Chief of Army Staff, Faruk Yahaya to build on the legacy of his predecessor.

Gatekeepers News reports that the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Lucky Irabor has urged the new Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Faruk Yahaya to build on the legacy of his predecessor, particularly in the fight against insurgency and banditry.

The CDS encouraged the new Army Chief while hosting Yahaya in his office, at the Defence Headquarters (DHQ), Abuja, on Friday.

Irabor congratulated Yahaya on his appointment as the 22nd COAS, noting that the appointment is well deserved and also wished him a successful tenure in office.

The Chief of Policy and Plans Headquarters Nigerian Army, Benjamin Ahanotu accompanied the COAS on the visit.

During the visit, the CDS’ presented the Nigerian Army flag to the new COAS.

Gatekeepers News reported that President Muhammadu Buhari appointed Yahaya as the new Army Chief on Thursday 27 May 2021.
