Host of ‘The Bachelor’, Chris Harrison has exited the show.
Gatekeepers News reports that the long-time host of the US dating show ‘The Bachelor’ is leaving finally after widespread criticism of his racial comments.
Harrison, who hosted The Bachelor from the beginning of the show in 2002 got himself hooked in a racial controversy by saying he was not the “woke police.”
“By excusing historical racism, I defended it,” he said at the time.
The backlash which continued made him stepped aside from hosting the show in February.
The TV Host later issued an apology, saying: “By excusing historical racism, I defended it. I invoked the term ‘woke police’, which is unacceptable. I am ashamed over how uninformed I was. I was so wrong.”
Despite all, the Season 17 of the show began without him as Former Bachelorettes Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe hosted the show instead.
Harrison, afterward announced his final exits through his Instagram account on Tuesday, “I’ve had a truly incredible run as host of The Bachelor franchise and now I’m excited to start a new chapter.
“I’m so grateful to Bachelor Nation for all of the memories we’ve made together. While my two-decade journey is wrapping up, the friendships I’ve made will last a lifetime.”
Warner Horizon and ABC Entertainment in a joint statement said “we are thankful for his many contributions over the past 20 years and wish him all the best on his new journey.”
