Gatekeepers News reports that the Queen is booked to attend the G7 leaders’ reception at the Eden Project, her first meeting with any foreign leader since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Queen will be joined by the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, as well as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for the evening gathering.
Friday’s evening reception will kick off a busy weekend for the Queen.
The 95-year-old will on Saturday attend her official birthday parade at Windsor Castle, and on Sunday, host President Biden and the first lady.
While in Cornwall the royals will also attend other events.
Kate is expected to meet Dr Jill Biden during the day.
Also, the Queen will be joined by Camilla and Kate for an event to celebrate ‘The Big Lunch’ initiative. It was announced last week that ‘The Big Jubilee Lunch’ will form part of the Queen’s platinum jubilee celebrations in 2022.
The Queen and Their Royal Highnesses are expected to meet local volunteers and commend them for their hard work during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Gatekeepers News reports that in what will be a significant moment for the Prince of Wales, and a first for a G7 summit, Charles will host a reception for the G7 leaders and CEOs of some of the world’s largest companies on Friday.
They are expected to brainstorm on how the private sector can collaborate with governments to tackle the climate emergency.
The Prince, in a meeting with the CEOs ahead of attending the summit, described it as a “potentially game-changing opportunity”.
Prince William, who is also a passionate campaigner on environmental issues, is expected to join his father for the reception.
