Netherlands and Austria have shone at their first matches at the Euro 2020.
Gatekeepers News reports that Netherlands and Austria have both netted three goals each at their first matches in the ongoing Euro 2020.
Georginio Wijnaldum score at the start of the second half gave the Dutch side a lead ahead of Wout Weghorst’s double against Ukraine.
Although Andriy Shevchenko’s men were quick to an equaliser within a space of 5 minutes, with Andriy Yarmolenko’s goal coming in at 75th minute and Roman Yaremchuk’s 79th-minute score.
Denzel Dumfries, however, shattered Ukraine’s hope by sealing Holland’s victory with the third goal in the last ten minutes, bringing the match to a 3-2 victory in favour of the Dutch.
Austria match against North Macedonia on the other hand, ended 3-1 in favour of Austria.
Stefan Lainer’s 18th-minute score for Austria launched the scoresheet.
Goran Pandev was able to capitalise on an error in the Austrian Defence to give the Macedonian an equalising goal at the 28th minute.
However, Michael Gregoritsch’s conversion of David Alaba’s cross to a goal punctured the hope of Igor Angelovski’s men at 78th minute.
West Ham forward Marko Arnautovic who was a substitute sealed the third goal for Ukraine in the 89th minute.
In other news, City’s Raheem Sterling was able to secure a victory for England in their first match at Euro 2020.
Sterling fired the opener and only goal of the match between England and Croatia at the 57th minute.
Euro 2020 continues today as Scotland meet Czech Republic, Poland face Slovakia and Spain against Sweden.
