Seven persons have been confirmed dead in a tanker explosion that occurred on Wednesday at Ajilete on Idiroko expressway, Ogun State, Southwest Nigeria.

Gatekeepers News reports that the explosion, which happened at about 8.45 am, was triggered after a commercial bus collided with a petrol tanker on the expressway.

The incident has been confirmed by officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

The FRSC unit commander of Idiroko, Akinwunmi Olaluwoye, told reporters that two other persons sustained injuries in the incident.
