President Muhammadu Buhari will receive NDDC Forensic audit next month.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Minister of Niger Delta, Godswill Akpabio says President Muhammadu Buhari will receive the report of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in July.
The Minister revealed this after meeting with the Chief of Staff to the President, Ibrahim Gambari, at the State House on Wednesday.
Akpabio, while noting much progress on the forensic audit, said the exercise was started not just to clean up the mess in the commission but to reposition the NDDC and ensure optimal performance.
He added that Nigeria could not afford a crisis in South-South as recorded in other regions of the country, noting the region’s importance to the nation’s economic survival.
The Minister further disclosed he has been meeting with stakeholders in the region to calm tension.
Akpabio, therefore, advised political leaders from other crisis-prone regions to do the same to curb the tensions.
