Senate has passed the N895, 842,465,917.00 Supplementary Budget for second reading. 

Gatekeepers News reports that the budget crossed onto second reading on Wednesday, 23 June 2021.

President Muhammdu Buhari had on Tuesday transmitted the document to the National Assembly for consideration and approval.

A substantial part of the fund has been earmarked for procurement of military hardware to prosecute the war against insurgency and banditry.

Federal Government is also expected to use part of the fund for the purchase of COVID-19 vaccines and other health-related needs.

Senate President Ahmad Lawan referred the Bill to the Committee on Appropriations for further legislative work and to report back on Tuesday next week.
