Gatekeepers News reports that the Convener of #RevolutionNow, Omoyele Sowore, has called for the release of Biafra agitator, Nnamdi Kanu noting that he was kidnapped and not repratraited.
Sowore, in a Facebook post, asserted that Kanu had done nothing to cause his arrest.
“FreeKanu now! Asking for self determination is not a crime!.
“Nnamdi Kanu wasn’t arrested in the UK, hence there was no extradition hearing. Suspicion is that he was kidnapped by one of the neighbouring banana republics and transferred to Nigerian authorities. #FreeKanu Now!” Sowore said.
The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).
This followed his arraignment on Tuesday before Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court, Abuja.
The judge adjourned until July 26 for continuation of trial.
Kanu, jumped the bail he was granted in 2017 and had remained elusive.
The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, SAN, disclosed this to journalists
He revealed that Kanu was arrested and brought back to Nigeria on Sunday.
Malami added that the arrest followed a collaborative effort between security agencies in Nigeria and the Interpol.
