Materials Used At Igarra Road Are Not Inferior – Peter Akpatason

Peter Akpatason has told Gatekeepers News that the materials used in the ongoing construction of Igarra Road are “not inferior.”

Gatekeepers News exclusive chat with the Lawmaker reveals more about the trending video as the Deputy Majority Leader, House of Representatives, Peter Akpatason, says the materials used in the ongoing construction of the Igarra road, Akoko-Edo, Edo State, are “not substandard”.

Akpatason, representing the Akoko-Edo Federal constituency, made this known in an exclusive chat with Gatekeepers News reporter.

Gatekeepers News earlier reported that a resident of the area in a video lamented the inferior materials used in the ongoing construction.

Akpatason has, however, disclaimed this, noting that the portion of the road being displayed in the video is newly done, adding that the video clearly showed that the cement was fresh. Workers were working on the construction site while he was shooting the video.

He noted that the case had been reported to the Police for the damage done to the newly constructed road and drainage.

The Federal Lawmaker, while speaking on the allegation of not using rods in the construction of the drainage, said, “the drainage is outside the scope of the contract”.

According to him, the drainage was just a plus because of the outcry and requests of the residents.

He, however, stressed that he didn’t know if rods were used or not, adding that he wasn’t there while the drainage was being constructed.

Akpatason said the video was “purely political”, and the politics been played in the construction of the road has affected the residents.
