Four members of the house of representatives have joined the APC.
Gatekeepers News reports that Four members of the House of Representatives, who were elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), from Zamfara State have defected to the All Progressives Congress(APC).
Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle last week announced his defection to the APC in Gusau, the state capital, along with members of the federal and state legislatures.
The defecting members are Bello Shinkafi of the Shinkafi/Zurmi Federal Constituency; Ahmed Bakura, Bakura/Maradun; Ahmed Shehu, Bungudu/Maru; and Suleiman Gummi, Gummi/Bukkuyum.
The lawmakers cited the crisis within the PDP for their action.
In a letter signed by Rep. Suleiman Gumi and read at plenary by speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, they said they were leaving the party because of the crisis which led to dissolution of the state chapter by the national leadership of the party.
The lawmaker representing Zamfara Central Senatorial District, Senator Hassan Gusau, had on Tuesday last week announced his resignation from the PDP in plenary.
President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, read Gusau’s letter informing his colleagues of his action at the plenary.
