Protest In Ibadan Over DSS Invasion Of Igboho’s House

Protest rocked the city of Ibadan, Oyo State, Southwest Nigeria on Wednesday over the Department of State Services (DSS)’s raid at the residence of popular Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho.

Gatekeepers News reports that DSS had last week raided Igboho’s house and arrested his guards and close associates.

DSS spokesperson Peter Afunaya said a total of seven AK 47 rifles were recovered, alongside pump action guns and 5,000 rounds of ammunition including other weapons.

The DSS raid was criticised by many Nigerians including Nobel Laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka.

Gatekeepers News reports the agitators of Yoruba nation gathered in front of Igboho’s house on Wednesday to protest and later moved around Ibadan metropolis.

With placards, the supporters chanted “No retreat, no surrender!”, “Oodua Nation!”, “Sunday Igboho is not a criminal!” amongst others.

The supporters asked that the Federal Government of Nigeria pay damages of N500m as requested by Igboho’s lawyer.
