Kemi Adeosun 'Dash Me’ Foundation Kicks Off Donation At Lagos Orphanage
Former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun’s ‘DashMe’ Foundation and Store last week donated over N500,000 to an orphanage home in Lagos.

Gatekeepers News had in June reported that Adeosun launched the ‘Dash Me’ Store to mobilise resources for distribution to vulnerable people in society via grassroots charities. The Foundation will work closely with charitable organisations in the grassroots to ensure that funds and other materials donated via the Dash Me Store get to actual beneficiaries.

Giving an update on the progress of the Foundation, Adeosun on Monday said ‘DashMe’ Foundation and Store, last week, met the needs of a new Impact Partner (Olive Blooms Orphanage in Ajah, Lagos).

According to her, the Orphanage was “in need of a new television set to replace their broken one (9 children and no TV must be tough!).

“We were happy to be able to help, and they also needed a gas cooker. They had been saving up to get one but had to use the money for an operation for one of the children.

“On your behalf, we sent them ₦597,276 from the proceeds of sales in the store.”

Gatekeepers News reports that the Former Minister further disclosed that a total of N1 million has been approved for the purchase of Wheelchairs that will be donated to 30 young disabled persons in Calabar, Cross River State.

Adeosun thanked those that have supported the ‘DashMe’ Foundation, saying “by donating items or cash, buying from our store or via our Instagram page, or just by telling others about us, you are making a difference.”

The Former Minister added that a new word “Nigenerous – a generous person of Nigerian extraction” has been coined to describe all the supporters of the Foundation.

“The team has already submitted it to the Oxford Dictionary, we will let you know how we get on,” she noted.
