COVID-19: NCDC Records 161 New Cases

NCDC has recorded 161 New COVID-19 cases and one death.

Gatekeepers News reports that Nigeria. recorded 161 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, July 12, 2021, bringing the number of confirmed infections in the country to 168,713.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed this in its daily report.

The infections were recorded in Lagos-153, FCT-4, Gombe-2, Oyo-1, and Rivers-1.

According to NCDC, 74 of the cases from Lagos State were reported on July 11, 2021.

Since the outbreak on February 27, 2020, a total of 2,124 persons have lost their lives to the virus while 164,476 have recovered and have been discharged.

In other news, a total of 2,534,205 eligible persons have received their first jab, while 1,404,740 Nigerians vaccinated with 1st dose have collected their 2nd dose.

The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) made this known in its COVID-19 Vaccination Update for July 12, 2021.
