Lawyer of Nnamdi Kanu has preached unity in DSS custody.
Gatekeepers News reports that Aloy Ejimakor, lawyer of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu says the secessionist is preaching unity while in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).
In June, Gatekeepers News reports that Kanu was arrested and extradited to Nigeria to face trial for alleged treason.
Reports also made it known that the Secessionist was lured to an African country with the promise of a donation, and then arrested.
He is currently facing charges bordering on treasonable felony over his campaign for secession and proposed establishment of the Republic of Biafra.
The IPOB leader had jumped bail in 2017 after military action, code-named “Operation Python Dance”, targeted his family house in Abia state.
Ejimakor in a tweet on Sunday said he met with Kanu for four hours, adding that the IPOB leader is cheerful in the DSS custody.
The tweet read, “UPDATE: Today, I met with Onyendu at the DSS. We spent nearly four hours. My interaction with him was fulfilling.
“He’s cheery and looks forward to overcoming this predicament sooner than later. Again, he stressed UNITY and tolerance on all sides. He has you all in his thoughts.”
Gatekeepers News earlier reported that the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami said the IPOB leader was “intercepted through the collaborative efforts of Nigerian intelligence and security services.”
The judge presiding over Kanu’s case, Binta Nyako, had ordered that the Secessionist be remanded in DSS’ custody, pending the continuation of his trial.
