Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases continue to increase as 206 new infections were reported on Tuesday.
Gatekeepers News reports that the fresh cases were reported in 10 Nigerian States; Lagos-132, Akwa Ibom-56, Ekiti-5, Delta-3, Rivers-2, Enugu-2, Jigawa-2, Katsina-2, Gombe-1 and FCT-1.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) noted that “today’s report includes 0 cases from Plateau, Sokoto, Kano, Oyo, Ondo, Osun, Nasarawa and Kaduna States.”
Gatekeepers News reports that as of July 20th 2021, Nigeria has recorded a total of 169,884 cases; 164,733 recoveries and 2,128 deaths.
Meanwhile, the Federal Government of Nigeria has placed Lagos, Oyo, Rivers, Kaduna, Kano, Plateau and the FCT on red alert as part of the preventive measures against a third wave of the pandemic amid the confirmation of the Delta Variant in the country.
