Benin Republic has filed fresh charges against Sunday Igboho.
Gatekeepers News reports that Benin Republic has filed fresh charges against Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, aka Sunday Igboho, who was arrested in the country on Monday, July 19.
One of the Cotonou, Benin Republic-based lawyers of Sunday Igboho, Ibrahim Salami made the new charges known after Monday’s hearing, where Igboho was ordered to remain in police custody in Benin Republic.
Salami, before the hearing, said the legal team was expecting extradition charges from the Nigerian government against the Igboho.
He explained that the judge ruled that Igboho got into Benin Republic through an illegal means, adding that they also want to investigate how he conspired with his ally to gain wrong access into the country.
