PDP BoT Member Defects To APC

A member of the PDP BoT, Senator Joy Emordi has joined the APC.

Gatekeepers News reports that a member of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Joy Emordi, has joined the All Progressives Congress APC.

Emordi’s resignation is coming scarcely 24 hours after seven deputy national officers of PDP on Tuesday resigned their positions as members of the National Executive Council.

The seven national officers are Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Diran Odeyemi; Deputy National Legal Adviser, Ahmed Bello; Deputy National Women Leader, Umoru Hadizat; Deputy National Auditor Divine Amina Arong; Deputy National Organizing Secretary, Hassan Yakubu; and Deputy National Financial Secretary, Irona Alphonsus.

Chairman APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee and Yobe state Governor, Mai Mala Buni, formally received the senator in a brief ceremony in Abuja, FCT.

This was disclosed in a statement by Buni’s Director-General, Press, and Media, Mamman Mohammed.

Mohammed quoted Emordi to have said she was convinced that “the future of a prosperous and united Nigeria lies in the APC”.

Emordi assured the party of her loyalty and that of her supporters to the party, saying, “l assure the party of my loyalty and support and to work for the success of the party.

“The APC-led federal government is working for the South-East and this is attracting more PDP members into APC.”

Mai Mala Buni while responding expressed delight with the decision taken by Emordi to contribute to the unity of the country.

Buni said the coming of Emordi and other prominent politicians from the South-East into the APC will promote national unity.

Buni said, “There is a need for us to join hands for the political stability and national unity of our dear country.

“The Southeast is a strong political block and very crucial to the unity of the country, this will no doubt add to national cohesion.”
