Gatekeepers News had last month reported that Saied assumed all executive power after he fired the Prime Minister and Suspended Parliament for 30 days.
The Tunisian President who announced a crackdown against corruption also dismissed several officials.
Among those affected were; Defence Minister Ibrahim Bartaji; acting Justice Minister Hasna Ben Slimane; Minister of Economy, Finance and Investment Support, Ali Kooli; Minister of Communications Technology and Acting Minister of agriculture, water resources and fisheries, Mohamed Fadhel Kraiem.
On Tuesday, state media announced the sacking of Ambassador Nejmeddine Lakhal, without giving any explanation for the decision. The governor of the eastern Sfax province, Anis Oueslati was also dismissed.
Gatekeepers News reports that while local polls revealed that there is huge support for Saied’s controversial actions, the country’s main political parties have described it as a “coup”.
