Nigeria Centre for Diseases Control (NCDC) has recorded 566 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) infections.
Gatekeepers News reports that NCDC made this known in its daily release for Thursday, August 5 2021.
The record shows Lagos has the highest number of infected cases, which is 283, while Akwa Ibom recorded 88 new cases.
Other states include Oyo (62), Rivers (62), FCT (18), Ogun (17), Ekiti (12), Kwara (11), Plateau (6), Zamfara (3), Kaduna (2) and Katsina (2)
Compilation of the newly infected cases showed that the country has summed up to a total number of 176,577 confirmed cases.
NCDC through its record highlighted that the total number of discharged cases was recorded to be 165,323.
Meanwhile, the total number of death increased to be 2,178, showing that 11 death case was recorded.
