Police Personnel have surrounded the headquarters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Gatekeepers News reports that the tension spurred around the APC national secretariat, recently christened Muhammadu Buhari House.
The police officers numbering over 25 took strategic positions on Blantyre street, where the party is located at Wuse 2 in the nation’s capital.
It is unclear why the police deployed their personnel in the secretariat, but report has it that the law enforcement agency is working on a security report.
Afterwards, the ruling party issued a notice, saying John Akpanudoedehe, national secretary of the caretaker, will explain to journalists why there is a heightened security presence at the secretariat.
“NOTICE: The National Secretary will brief the media on increased security presence at the Party’s National Secretariat. He is on his way to the Secretariat,” the party said in a terse notice.
