English actor Daniel Craig has revealed that he won’t leave a fortune for his children, saying “Inheritance is distasteful”.
Gatekeepers News reports that the James Bond star, who has gathered fortune from his acting career, has a three-year-old daughter with famous wife Rachel Weisz and an adult daughter, Ella, from his marriage with Fiona Loudon.
The 53-year-old while speaking with Candis magazine, said: “Isn’t there an old adage that if you die a rich person, you’ve failed? I think Andrew Carnegie gave away what in today’s money would be about 11 billion dollars, which shows how rich he was because I’ll bet he kept some of it too.
“But I don’t want to leave great sums to the next generation. I think inheritance is quite distasteful. My philosophy is: get rid of it or give it away before you go.”
Gatekeepers News reports that while speaking on being a celebrity, Craig who appears to like a private life, said: “And it’s nothing I should complain about really, because I also have huge benefits out of being who I am.
“But the fact is that privacy is a hugely important part of my life, and this being a… celebrity… makes me nervous, actually.
“There is a side of my life that I just choose not to share and not to discuss. I think people’s private life is something private, and that’s that.”
