Covid-19: Nigeria Records 1064 New Cases As Infection Hits 186,635

Nigeria has recorded 1064 New Covid-19 cases and 13 deaths as infection hits 186,635.

Gatekeepers News reports that the confirmed cases of Covid-19 has increased to 186,635 as 1064 new cases and 13 deaths were recorded in Nigeria on Saturday, 22nd of August 2021.

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its daily update on Coronavirus, said 168,320 cases have been discharged and 2,260 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory of the country.

According to NCDC, the new cases are reported from 10 states, with Lagos having the highest with 776 new cases.

In further report from NCDC, Rivers had143, Ekiti-49, Kwara-33, Ogun-21, Benue-18, Oyo-13, FCT-5, Osun-4, Yobe-2.

Meanwhile, a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities.
