SGF Mourns Lady Victoria Aguiyi-Ironsi

Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, has mourned the demise of Lady Victoria Aguiyi-Ironsi.

Gatekeepers News reports that the SGF is greatly saddened with the death of Noble Lady Victoria Aguiyi-Ironsi, the widow of the late former Head of State of Nigeria, General Johnson Thomas Aguiyi-Ironsi.

Lady Aguiyi-Ironsi had passed away in the early hours of Monday, August 23, 2021, at the age of 88.

The SGF while mourning the demise of the Matriarch, described her “as a devout Christian, epitome of humility, a philanthropist of note, and a home builder as well as the founding member of the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association, (NAOWA) – an apex body which provides welfare for the wives of officers in the Nigerian Army.”

Mustapha noted that her departure would leave a big vacuum in the meetings of First Ladies, as an embodiment of experience and knowledge in state matters, being the oldest, whose contributions and wise counsel would be missed.

Until her demise, she served as a Board member of several public and private companies, including humanitarian organisations.

The SGF, has, therefore, commiserated with the Government and people of Abia State, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, her family, religious associates; and prays to God to grant the soul of the deceased eternal rest.
