BYA Elects 11 New Executive Members

Bayelsa Youths Association (BYA) has elected new executive members into office. 

Gatekeepers News reports that the 11 new executives were elected on Saturday, 21 August at the auditorium of the Bayelsa Medical University.

2021 Electoral body of the Bayelsa State Youth Association Worldwide was constituted by the National Executive Members in January, 2021 to conduct credible elections to fill offices of the past Executive Members whose tenure in office ended in 2021.

Bigbo Solomon, Chairman of the association made this known in a press statement, adding that a total number of 18 persons showed interest in the executive position.

He said, “The Electoral Committee having being given the mandate to conduct the elections issued a publication to the general public and Youths in particular to purchase forms for the elections.

“A total of Eighteen (18) candidates purchased forms and were duly screened by the Eleco on the 18th and 19th of August respectively.”

He further stated that aspirants vying for different positions were given the opportunity to present their Manifesto after which all delegates for the Election were accredited for voting.

Solomon said voting commenced at about 1:40pm through Option A4 system of voting and at about 3:30pm, the voting process was concluded and winners were declared in the process.

The winners of the executive position include:

1. Doupere Olakemi precious – President
2. Aaron Richard Pereyei – Vice President
3. Prince Ebiuwou Jackson – Secretary
4. Perekemi Ayah – Spokesperson
5. Aforke Independence – Woman Leader
6. Godfrey Job David – Treasurer
7. Egba Raphael Micah – Organising Secretary
8. Odjesah Zemkizibe Jefferson – Mobilization
9. Johny Issac – Students Representative
10. Braoukubo Reuben Akpotunimibofa – Financial Secretary
11. Tamunu Peter Ebi – Assistant Secretary

The Electoral committee Chairman, Engr. Elvis Donkemezuo who noted that the election was free and fair, thanked spectators and delegates for participating in the elections and wished all well.
