Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has confirmed the attack of unknown gunmen in the academy.

Gatekeepers News had earlier reported that the gunmen attacked the NDA permanent site in the early hours of today.

Academy Public Relations Officer Major Bashir Muhd Jajira, who affirmed this through a press statement, said the bandits gained access into the residential area within the Academy in Afaka.

“The security architecture of the Nigerian Defence Academy was compromised early this morning by unknown gunmen who gained access into the residential area within the Academy in Afaka,” he said.

He added that the Nigerian Army lost two personnel during the unfortunate incident while some were abducted.

As a way to rescue the kidnapped officers, Jajira said the academy, in collaboration with the 1Division Nigerian Army and Air Training Command and other security agencies in Kaduna state, has since commenced pursuit of the unknown gunmen within the general area to track them.

He made it known that the NDA community and Cadets are safe in the Academy.

“We assure the general public that these (these)unknown gunmen would soon be apprehended and the abducted personnel rescued,” he said.
