Professor Victor Uwaifo has departed to the great beyond. He has completed a full life circle and his God ordained assignment on earth with an intriguing impact in the world of music and Arts. He was such an enigma combining music artistry with being an academic of great repute.
His musical albums featuring great Benin forklores like Joromi, Ekaasa, Arabade, to mention just a few are testimonies of his great talents and creativity.
Anyone that has visited the Sir Victor Uwaifo Pallazo on Ekenwan Road in Benin City will understand that here was a great inventor, sculptor and a genius in the world of arts.
His musical displays at both local, national and international events were spectacular which many across the globe like to behold. His humane and humble personality exemplifies the robust assets God made of this uncommon homo sapiens.
His death at 80,has reverberated across the length and breath of the globe and he will surely be missed.
At death the Shakespearean’s eulogy of the death of princes is re-echoed, when Calpurnia, Caesar’s wife exclaimed “When beggars die there are no comets seen;
The heavens themselves blaze forth the death of princes.”
Indeed, a renown Musical king has gone and heavens will blaze forth his demise.
