Nigeria has recorded 362 New COVID-19 cases and 93 deaths.
Gatekeepers News reports that Nigeria has recorded 362 new COVID-19 cases and 93 deaths on Sunday, August 29, 2021, bringing the number of confirmed infections in the country to 191,345.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed this in its daily report.
In the report, Lagos recorded the highest infections with 200 new cases, while Oyo followed with 33 cases, Kwara-30, Akwa Ibom-24, Ogun-17, Delta-15, and Ekiti-15.
Plateau and Rivers recorded 7 each while 5 tested positive in FCT; Anambra and Edo recorded 3 each; Bayelsa, Kaduna and Kano recorded 1 infection each.
NCDC stated that today’s report includes: a backlog of cases reported for Delta State from August 26 – (2), 27 – (4), and 28 – (9) August 2021; and a backlog of deaths reported for Lagos State.
Since the outbreak on February 27, 2020, a total of 2,454 persons have lost their lives to the virus while 178,283 have recovered and have been discharged.
