Nigeria on Wednesday recorded 559 new COVID-19 cases, as total infections rose to 197,046.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made the disclosure in its daily update on the Coronavirus outbreak.
NCDC said the fresh cases were reported from 15 States; Lagos-232, Rivers-83, Enugu-66, Oyo-28, Kaduna-25, FCT-24, Delta-22, Akwa Ibom-19, Kwara-18, Ekiti-13, Bayelsa-9, Cross River-9, Ogun-6, Kano-3 and Gombe-2.
On the day under review, 220 COVID-19 patients recovered and were discharged from various isolation centres across the federation, while 5 persons died of complications.
Gatekeepers News reports that so far, 185,379 recoveries and 2,578 deaths have been recorded in Nigeria.
