Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has signed VAT bill into law.
Gatekeepers News reports that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, South-West Nigeria, has signed into law the State Value Added Tax (VAT) Bill as passed by the state’s House of Assembly.
This was confirmed in a statement by Commisioner for information & Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso.
Omotoso said the governor signed the bill after returning from an official trip.
“The Governor signed the bill for a law to impose and charge VAT on certain goods and services at about 11. 45am today [Friday], after returning from an official trip to Abuja. By this act, the Bill has now become a Law,” the statement read in part.
