Snooker and Pool Players Alliance of Nigeria (SPPA) is set for a nationwide promotion of the Chinese Eight Ball Pool in a few week’s time as the much awaited equipment for the sport arrived the country.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Joy Billiards Q3+ Pool Tables which are the official equipment for Chinese Pool as approved by the International Chinese Eight Ball Pool.
Association (ICEA) were received by FIJI Ventures Limited ;the Joy Billiards Sports Promotion Company representative in Nigeria.
SPPA had earlier entered into a well celebrated collaboration with FIJI Ventures to grow Cue Sports in Nigeria which will see more competitive snooker and pool tournaments hold all over the country as well as working with Joy Billiards Sports Promotion Company China to promote the Chinese Eight Ball Pool and avail exceptional players in this version of pool global opportunities.
Nigeria was expected to make her maiden appearance at the Joy Billiards / ICEA Chinese Pool World Cup in Durban, South Africa in 2020 but the global Covid-19 lockdown caused theorganisers to postpone the event indefinitely.
Consequently, the arrival of these Chinese Pool equipment is spurring SPPA and Fiji Ventures into action to drive public acceptance and interest in the sport in order for Nigeria to stake a claim for future global events and produce world beaters in the sport.
The President of SPPA, Idada Joachim who is excited by this latest development announced programmes that the alliance will be embarking on to make Chinese Pool a popular sport in Nigeria.
“We are organizing Chinese Pool Top 4 Series, Inter Bar Chinese Pool Series, Independence Day Tournament while we orgainsing local tournaments that will serve as qualifiers for the Joy Chinese Pool Global League which holds in China and boast of about $150,000 prize fund” he said.
Idada also revealed that the SPPA will be working with some affiliate clubs and bars like Dreamworld Snooker and Pool Bar, Lekki, Nicon Town Pool Bar and the Community Centre Obele Odan, Surulere that have the Joy Billiards Bing Tables and ranking in Chinese Pool will now be available on the Cue Sports Management and Players Ranking System.
