Abdulrasheed Bawa of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday slumped at a public event.
Gatekeepers News reports that the EFCC boss slumped while speaking at the presidential villa in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
He was immediately rushed to the hospital after he suddenly collapsed on stage and was hastily assisted to his seat by other attendees.
The 41-year-old EFCC chairman was speaking about widespread identity crimes across Nigeria in his speech before the incident.
Following the incident, questions have since arisen over the health of the EFCC chief who appears young and energetic.
President Muhammadu Buhari named Bawa as the chairman of the anti-graft office in February 2021.
