Aliyu Ibrahim-Gaya Emerges New Emir of Gaya

Aliyu Ibrahim-Gaya has emerged as the new Emir of Gaya.

Gatekeepers News reports that the Governor of Kano State, North West Nigeria, Abdullahi Ganduje has appointed Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim-Gaya as the new Emir of Gaya.

Until his appointment, Ibrahim Gaya was holding the title, Chiroman Gaya.

Ibrahim-Gaya is succeeding his late father, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdulkadir after a protracted illness.

He was 91 years old at the time of his death.

The Secretary to the State Government, Usman Alhaji announced the appointment in a statement.

Usman said, “Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, by the power conferred on him by the Kano Emirate law 2020 as amended has approved the appointment of Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim-Gaya as the new Emir of Gaya.

“The appointment followed the recommendation by the Gaya Emirate Kingmakers after the presentation of three candidates from them,the Governor appointed Aliyu Ibrahim Gaya as the new Emir.”
