Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola says his administration’s prudent management of scarce resources has sustained the payment of workers’ salaries in the state.
Gatekeepers News reports that Oyetola said this in an interview with Newsmen in Abuja on Thursday.
He explained that his long years in managing men and materials in the private sector gave him the requisite training to manage such issues in the public sector.
He said, “There is no magic. It is a question of defining your priorities, getting them right. I also believe that workers deserve their pay.
“Don’t forget that I came from a private sector background. I employed people in my company. As a matter of policy, there was no time I didn’t pay their monthly salary. “
The governor maintained that it would be out of place for anyone to say that at 61, Nigeria has nothing worth celebrating.
According to him, a lot has been achieved in terms of developing the nation’s infrastructure. He, however, said that there was still a lot more to do.
He appealed to Nigerians to continue to support the government as it works hard to improve the quality of life.
