Job Title: Waste Treatment Supervisory Consultant

This scope of work (SOW) sets forth the services to be provided by Consultant to SAII Associates Ltd/Gte, an associate company of Chemonics International Inc.

The objective of this billable short-term assignment is to serve as the Waste Treatment Supervisory Consultant for the USAID Global Health Supply Chain (GHSC) – Procurement and Supply Management (PSM) project. The Waste Treatment Supervisory Consultant will supervise the treatment of expired and unusable health commodities at the waste treatment site Boskel Nigeria Limited from 7 pm to 7 am Mondays to Fridays.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise the movement of waste commodities from the warehouse while taking proper inventory of the commodities.
  • Ensuring proper weighing of all commodities brought out of the warehouse
  • Supervise the sorting and separation of all waste ensuring all drugs are removed from the cans and prepared for incineration
  • Supervise the destruction and incineration of all laboratory reagents and drugs following standard guidelines
  • Supervise the shredding and pyrolysis of plastic containers
  • Supervise the proper disposal of the residue collected
  • Ensure the safety and security of all waste products.
  • Share daily reports with the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of health commodity logistics
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • At least 1 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience working on a USAID or donor-funded project required
  • Fluency in English is required
