Ganduje Sacks Controversial Ex-Commissioner Mu’azu Again

Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, has sacked controversial ex-commisioner Mu’azu Magaji.

Gatekeepers News reports that for the second time, Mu’azu Magaji, has been sacked under Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, North West Nigeria.

Magaji was a former Commisioner for works and was sacked by Ganduje after he apparently mocked the death of Abba Kyari, the late Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, who had died of complications from COVID-19, in a post on Facebook.

However, some months later, Ganduje engaged Magaji in another capacity.

He was appointed the Executive Chairman, state NNPC/AKK Gas Pipeline Project and Gas Industrialisation Committee.

On Monday, Ganduje terminated his appointment over “poor performance and insubordination”.

Commissioner of Information, Muhammad Garba, announced the sack in a statement.

The statement said Magaji failed to live above board in carrying out the responsibility assigned to him to oversee the project.

It noted that his leadership of the committee, which is to among other things, coordinate in close partnership with the NNPC on timely implementation of the project, has not been forthcoming in working to achieve the desired objective.

The statement added that the governor directed Magaji to hand over the affairs of the committee to the Deputy Executive Chairman, Aminu Babba Dan‘Agundi, Sarkin Dawaki Babba.

Gatekeepers News effort to reach Mu’azu Magaji proved abortive as his line wasn’t reachable at press time.
