Prince Harry is going to miss event hosting of his mum.
Gatekeepers News reports that Prince William is set to host the memorial tribute event for Princess Diana on October 19.
Some royal experts suggested Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may return to the UK for the ceremony but a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex has confirmed this will not be happening. ET’s Hallie Stephens discussed this news and the difficulties between Prince William and Prince Harry.
Ms Stephens said: “Despite recent reports, a spokesperson for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle told ET they will not be visiting London this week to attend an event honouring the late Princess Diana.
“So for now, we shouldn’t hold our breath for a royal reunion.”
She continued: “The event that will be hosted by Prince William was originally scheduled to take place at the same time as the unveiling of Princess Diana’s statue at Kensington Palace in July.
“This was an event that Prince Harry did attend but due to COVID-19 limitations, it had to be postponed and drastically scaled back.
“Now the spokesperson confirms there are no plans for Harry and Meghan to be in the UK for the private donor event.”
Royal expert Omid Scobie spoke to ET in August and emphasises the strained relationship between Prince Harry and William.
He told ET: “The relationship between Prince Harry and William is still one of distance.
“I don’t just mean physical, they just are not talking that much.
Prince Harry narrative could ‘severe ties with family’ says host. “That is exactly how sources close to Prince William have put it.”
Mr Scobie also noted that Harry and William were able to put their differences aside for the unveiling of the Princess Diana statue.
He said: “We did see the brothers come together for the important moments.
“Both sides are able to put everything to one side when it comes to focussing on the bigger more important moments.
