BSU Graduate ‘Raped’ And Murdered In Makurdi

A BSU graduate has been ‘raped’, murdered in Makurdi, Benue state.

Gatekeepers News reports that a graduate of Benue State University (BSU) and candidate of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has been allegedly raped and murdered.

The graduate, identified as Joy Onuh, was a mass communication graduate who owned a business named Sparklight Collections.

She was 24-year-old at the time of her death.

The deceased brother, Israel Elube, who spoke to TheCable Lifestyle, said Joy’s dead body was found at about 5 pm at the low-cost federal residence in Makurdi, Benue State, North Central Nigeria.

He said the late Joy got an order through social media to supply a turtle-neck polo T-Shirt for a yet-to-be-identified customer on Tuesday and went missing from there.

Elube said, “All efforts to reach her proved abortive, and we were worried because she’s not a type that goes out without telling the people around.

“Her body was later found around North bank Makurdi lying lifeless.”

While speaking, Joy’s mother described the deceased as “having been the breadwinner of the family”.

Onuh said, “Joy is my husband, she’s my father, she’s the breadwinner of my family since her dad died.

“Joy graduated and have just been mobilised for NYSC but decide to do business so as to find money to enable her travel for the orientation.”

The Benue police spokesperson, Catherine Anene, said efforts are being made to apprehend her killers.

Anene said, “The police have long time swung into investigation and will bring the culprits to book.”
