70-year-old Man Defiles 7-year-old Girl In Bauchi

A 70-year-old man has been arrested for defiling a 7-year-old girl in Bauchi state.

Gatekeepers News reports that a 70-year-old man identified as Umaru Daura has been arrested by operatives of the Zone 12 Police Command, Bauchi State, North-East Nigeria, for allegedly defiling a seven years daughter of one of his neighbours.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer (ZPPRO), SP Thomas Goni.

Goni said Daura’s arrest was effected by Police detectives attached to Zone 12 Command Headquarters of the Nigeria Police in Bauchi.

The statement quoted the police to have acted based on intelligence reports received.

Goni said the incident happened at “Kawo Rauta Village in Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State.”

He noted that the victim’s father, Alhaji Habu, reported the case to the Police.

He stated that “the suspect was caught red-handed defiling my 7-year-old daughter.”

Goni added that the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 12 Bauchi, AIG Audu A. Madaki, has directed that the suspect be charged to court after completion of investigations.

He appealed to public members to always volunteer information that may lead to the arrest of criminals stressing that it is by so doing that crimes and criminality can be reduced and checked.
