Remains of the trapped corps member has been recovered from the collapsed 21-storey building.
Gatekeepers News reports that the lifeless body of Zainab Oridamola, the female member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), serving with the construction company, Fourscore Homes Limited has been pulled out from the collapsed high-rise building on Gerrard road in Ikoyi, Lagos, Southwest, Nigeria.
On Tuesday Zainab’s mother, who identified herself as Mrs Anjorin, was seen weeping profusely as sympathisers tried to console her and encourage her.
According to her, food vendors around the site told her that her daughter entered the building after buying lunch minutes before the incident happened.
The victim’s mother was later seen appealing to authorities to help with the rescue of her daughter.
She said, “My daughter — Zainab — was in the building that collapsed in Ikoyi yesterday (referring to Monday) noon.
“Till now, they haven’t removed her. The workers removing them have stopped work and my daughter is still there.
“Lagos state governor should help me. They should bring my daughter out for me.”

However, the recovery of Oridamola’s remains from the ill-fated building has daunted the hope of other survivors as rescuers are now restricted access to the site.
Meanwhile, Governor of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has asked victims’ relatives to register the names of their loved ones with the state.
