Incumbent Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello says Nigerians are pleading with him to consider running for President in 2023.
Gatekeepers News reports that Bello referred to diverse support which had been raised from various groups.
He lamented over the poor state of the Nation’s security, disunity, and injustice, adding that his performance has treated all of these within his tenure as a governor in Kogi.
Bello said his visible services to the state have made Nigerians call on him to extend his leadership capacity to the national level.
He said, “Nigerians are calling on me, of course, because of my performance in Kogi State. The State was divided mainly against itself before I came onboard. It was decayed in infrastructure, insecurity, and a lot of troubles. Today, the reverse is the case.
“If what we have done in Kogi; by uniting the people, fighting insecurity and making Kogi the safest state in Nigeria today, ensuring there is equity, fairness and justice in Kogi. If that is required of me to replicate at the national level, I will be glad.”
Lately, Governor Bello has been greeted by calls to run for the office of the President of Nigeria in the 2023 election from many quarters, especially from the sports world, entertainment industry, women’s groups, youth and more.
