Wives Of Service Chiefs Storm Maiduguri To Boost Troops’ Morale

Wives of the Service Chiefs led by the President, Defence and Police Officers Wives Association ( DEPOWA) Bar. Victoria Irabor has on Tuesday charged the troops fighting Boko Terrorists in the North East to maintain the tempo assuring that their wives and children will continue to support them.

Gatekeepers News reports that Irabor, who is the wife of Chief of Defense Staff ( CDS), also prayed that the troops in the Theater of Operation be bestowed with the requisite wisdom and come up with strategies to bring the over a decade long war to an end.

At the Headquarters of Operation Hadin Kai in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, Irabor stated that the had work of the Nigeria armed forces has kept the nation together and commended the troops for their commitment to keeping the peace in the North East and other parts of the country.

“We are here in Maiduguri as Wives and Mothers to give you a path on the back and to encourage you to continue to do the good work. We are here to let you know that we are very proud of you.

“We pray that God will continue to strengthen you and give you the ideas and strategy to bring this war to an end,” Irabor said.

The wife of the CDS, who was also accompanied by the Hon Federal Commissioner, National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internationally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) Hajiya Imaan Suleiman took time to visit widows of fallen heroes and IDPs at Muhammadu Buhari IDP Camp where palliatives were handed over to selected beneficiaries.

This gesture, according to Irabor, is a partnership between her Association and NCFRMI which is aimed at bringing succour to the less privileged with the state where the project Zero Hunger was launched to assist residents with foodstuffs.

“Defense and Police Officers Wives Association is collaborating NCFRMI to bring succour to IDPs and those that her hungry,” Irabor said.

The Theater Commander (TC) of Operation Hadin Kai Brig. Gen. Christopher Musa commended the wives of the service chiefs for their visit noting that their presence in Maiduguri will not help boost the morale of troops “but will also assist the non – kinetic effort” at prosecuting the war against Boko Haram terrorists.

“Our Troops will continue to push until we have the much-needed peace in the North East,” Gen Musa said.

Military Officers Wives who accompanied Irabor on her visit include Wives of the Chief of Army Staff, Hajiya Salamatu Yahaya; Chief of Naval Staff, Nana Gambo; and Chief of Air Staff Elizbeth Amao amongst others.
