Officials of Wema bank flew from Lagos to Dubai to meet award-winning Nigerian singer, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido after the money challenge he launched on social media generated about N190m in less than two days.
Gatekeepers News reports that Davido on Wednesday shared a Wema account and solicited funds from his fans and friends, noting that his target is N100, to enable him clear his Rolls Royce from the port.
The singer also announced on his Twitter account that the Wema bank wanted to have a meeting with him.
“Wema wanna have a meeting, Davido tweeted on Wednesday.
As the fundraising got heated, the bank also keyed into the trend and made a post that read: “Na bank wey Davido dey use we go dey use now.”
On Friday night, Davido’s lawyer, Bobo Ajudua, shared pictures of the singer and Wema Bank officials with the caption, “Wema Bank finally touch down from Lagos. Ent law life will have you doing meetings at the wildest hours.” (sic)
Davido also reposted the post on his Instagram story, with the caption “@wema_bank couldn’t wait”, revealing his location as the United Arab Emirates.
The bank reposted Ajudua and Davido’s post on their Instagram story.
