Terrorists Kill Ex-Zamfara Governorship Aspirant On Kaduna-Abuja Highway

Ex-Zamfara APC governorship aspirant has been killed by terrorists.

Gatekeepers News reports that a Zamfara governorship aspirant in the 2019 election, Sagir Hamida, has been killed by terrorists.

Hamida was killed on Sunday when terrorists attacked travellers on the Abuja-Kaduna highway.

Several travellers were said to have been kidnapped during the attack.

NAN reported that the elder brother to Sagir Hamida, Kabiru, said Hamida was killed near the Abuja end of the highway.

Hamida is an Abuja-based businessman and former director in the federal civil service.

He had aspired to become the governor of Zamfara on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in 2011 but lost in the primary election.

He later defected to the APC and expressed interest in contesting the governorship position on the party’s platform in 2019, but lost the ticket to Muktar Shehu.
