Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) at its 16th edition of Lagos Advertising and Ideas Festival Awards (LAIF) has applauded agencies for creativity and outstanding efforts.
Gatekeepers News reports that the 2021 LAIF awards tagged “we made it” held at Landmark Centres to celebrate exceptional creative works that stood out amidst the challenging period of 2020 and 2021.
Speaking of the Awards, the President, Lanre Adisa stated that entries of the award are not just selected based on preference but are rather judged on international standards.
He further stated that the victory from LAIF Awards has also helped the winners to gain more valued feet in the advertising world, thereby, helping clients recognise the agencies they should work with.
Adisa said the award has motivated creativity amongst agencies and has made advertisers more competitive in achieving excellence and birthing better results.
LAIF awards, according to the president of the association, has carved a niche for international recognition just as it has widened the creativity standard of individuals in the agency to make creativity explicit.
On how it supports the economy, Adisa said, “Advertising works to support businesses, builds brands. A lot of people’s careers, a lot of people’s futures are dependent on what we do.
“So, invariably what we do has an impact on the economy. If the brands are made to the best of standards around the world but are unable to connect to people, it all becomes a waste. So when you have the best product or services, you need to also find the best partner to also promote them, and that is where we come in.
“So without the input of people in our industry, a whole lot of businesses will not be able to differentiate themselves and relate with their audiences.”
Chairman of the Association and founder of X3M ideas, Steve Babaeko, said LAIF was inspired by the hard work of agencies that have done magnificent jobs and needed to be appreciated for their deeds.
He said the LAIF award recognises agencies that are registered with AAAN. He, therefore, called out to agencies, especially the creatives on social media, to make registration with the body through aaan.org.
Several agencies won awards in different categories.
