Gatekeepers News reports that this was disclosed in a letter addressed to the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) dated November 15, 2021.
The EFCC requested the Service to inform it anytime the Governor is travelling out of the country from any of the International airports and other points of entry and exit.
It is not immediately clear why the Governor has been placed on the anti-graft agency’s watchlist, but the development comes months before Obiano is expected to leave office as governor. The outgoing Governor is expected to hand over in March 2022.
Gatekeepers News reports that Obiano was sworn in on March 16, 2014, as Anambra State Governor, succeeding Peter Obi, who is also being investigated by the EFCC.
