Fix Refineries Before Removing Subsidy — Catholic Knights To FG

Catholic knights have urged the Federal Government of Nigeria to Fix refineries before removing subsidy.

Gatekeepers News reports that the Order of the Knights of St. Mulumba of Nigeria have urged the Federal Government of Nigeria to ensure that all refineries are working to their full capacities before the removal of fuel subsidy.

The Worthy Supreme Knight of the Council, Sir Diamond Ovueraye said this during the opening ceremony of the 2021 convention at Asaba, Delta State, South West Nigeria.

Sir Ovueraye said as Knights, they have the onerous and very challenging duty to speak out against the ills in our society.

Ovueraye said, “For the past 10 years, we have been talking about removing of fuel subsidy. Yes, the federal government should think of a better way of removing subsidy.

“But before doing that, they should fix all the refineries and ensure they all work to their full capacities.

“Federal Government should stabilise the economy of the country so that the removal of the subsidy would not have effects on the people”
