Father And Daughter Stabbed To Death

Father and daughter have been stabbed to death in North London.

Gatekeepers News reports that a 31-year-old woman and her father, a 61-year-old man have been found dead at a house in Wood Green, North London.

Police, while confirming this, said a 52-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder and is currently in police custody.

According to authorities, officers were notified on reports of a man acting suspiciously in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, on the morning of the murder.

The Met after being contacted visited the property in Wood Green where the two victims were found dead.

Neighbours told the police that the pair, who are yet to be formally identified by officers, kept themselves to themselves.

A neighbour, who requested to remain anonymous said: “They were always out and about, often hanging around on their balcony, but we would not see them with anyone else.

“The dad was partially deaf. He was nice, he would never shoot a fly. He would ask to use my phone sometimes.

“You never know what goes on behind closed doors. It is unexpected for around here.

“They were not really friends with anyone, but everyone knew the dad passing by.”

Another said, “What happened is shocking. Crime is increasing everywhere you go, but you just have to look after people as best you can and be on the lookout as best you can.

“It is just very sad that such a thing has happened to a family.”

The Metropolitan Police Spokesman said: “While formal identification is yet to take place, we are confident the man and the woman are father and daughter.

“A post-mortem will take place in due course. Their next of kin have been involved and are being supported by specialist officers.

“The 52-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in custody in a north London police station.”

The lead of the murder probe, Detective Chief Inspector Claire Hine said: “This incident has taken the lives of a father and daughter.

“Our thoughts are with their loved ones as they come to terms with such an unimaginable loss.

“We are providing and will continue to provide them with whatever support we can.

“We believe the victims and the man in custody were known to each other and while the investigation is still in its early stages, I am confident we are not looking for additional suspects and there is no continuing risk to members of the public in the area.

“I would urge anyone who heard anything unusual or witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the vicinity of Mayes Road, either this weekend or at another time, to contact the police.

“Information that helps us build a picture of what has taken place in this case could be very important.”
