JUST IN: More Than 10 Children Crushed To Death By Trailer In Lagos

More than 10 children have been crushed to death by a trailer in Lagos State.

Gatekeepers News reports that no fewer than 10 secondary school children have been crushed to death by a trailer around Ogba/Berger in Lagos State, South West Nigeria.

A witness told Gatekeepers News that the trailer driver didn’t stop despite crushing the students.

This development has led to chaos in the area as trucks and property are being burnt.

Another Witness said that “the pupils were going home after closing time and wanted to cross the road when the truck ran over them.”

The pupils are reported to be student of Babs Fafunwa and Ojodu grammar school.

“The incident happened along Ogunusi Road, Grammar School bus stop, Lagos State.

The witness added that “the driver was trying to avoid being arrested by Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO).

“The driver on seeing the damage reportedly ran away but was chased to the Ogba area where he was arrested.”

She added that “Riot has broken out as a result of the incident as policemen fired tear gas canisters to disperse the crowd.

“The protesters have also burnt down the trailer and burning other trailers or trucks passing around the area and also the VIO office in that area.

“The Lagos state ambulance has come to pick the corpse of the dead students to be deposited at the morgue.”
