Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr has been sacked and replaced by former Nigeria international, Austin Eguavoen.
Gatekeepers News reports that Nigeria’s Franco-German Rohr has been dismissed as coach of the team by the country’s Football Federation.
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed that Rohr’s contract has been terminated in a statement released on Sunday.
The termination of the contract brings an end to almost a month of speculations about Rohr’s future.
The NFF had earlier denied reports that the coach had been sacked back in November.
The NFF in an official statement, said, “The relationship between the Nigeria Football Federation and Mr Rohr has come to an end.
“We thank him for his services to the Super Eagles and Nigeria.”
Rohr’s replacement, Eguavoen had twice coached the Super Eagles in the past – in 2006 and 2012.
