President Muhammadu Buhari has nominated a new minister.
Gatekeepers News reports that President Buhari has nominated Muazu Sambo from Taraba State, North Eastern Nigeria, and has written to seek the confirmation of the Senate.
Senate President Ahmad Lawan read Buhari’s letter at the red chamber during plenary on Tuesday.
Gatekeepers News sources say the new minister if and when confirmed would be the new Minister of Power.
On September 1, Gatekeepers News reported that President Buhari relieved Saleh Mamman of his duty as the Minister of Power. The Minister of State for Works, Abubakar Aliyu was immediately announced as the acting Minister for Power.
The Presidential Spokesman, Femi Adesina, however, noted that the sack of the minister was not based on weakness.
This is a developing story.
